Agua Nueva agate
Agua Nueva agate
29x14mm
Formed in volcanic rock cavities through slow silica deposition over millions of years, Agua Nueva Agate developed in rhyolitic host rocks in the Sierra Madre region. It is prized for its vibrant and varied coloration, typically featuring rich bands and plumes in hues of purple, lavender, orange, red, yellow, and white. Some specimens display intricate fortification banding, while others reveal mossy or plume-like inclusions. Translucent to semi-transparent, its aesthetic appeal is often compared to the famed Laguna Agate, found nearby.
